The guests participated by remote connection from Sioux Falls about the abortion ballot initiative in South Dakota on whether to approve a law signed by Republican Governor Mike Rounds making abortion a crime except to save a pregnant woman's life. The state's legislature passed the law in February to prompt a court challenge expecting the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn its 1973 [Roe v. Wade] decision that legalized abortion. However, state opponents of the law collected signatures to put the abortion ban to a public vote in the November election. The guests responded to telephone calls.
