      <title>Berlin Tunnel Operation</title>
      <description>Lou Mehrer spoke about the Berlin Tunnel and "Operation Gold," a 1950s project conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency and the British Intelligence Service to tap into Soviet communications by tunneling from West Berlin into East Berlin, Germany. Known as "Operation Stopwatch" by the British, the 1,500 foot tunnel was active for eleven months, and netted about 40,000 hours of East German telephone conversations. Mr. Mehrer spoke at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum in West Branch, Iowa.</description>

The World Economic Forum is an annual event held in Davos, Switzerland attended by thousands of global leaders from government, business, economics and philanthropy.</description>

      <title>Greek Economic Challenges</title>
      <description>Alexis Tsipras, leader of the SYRIZA, the primary opposition party in Greece's Hellenic Parliament, talked about his country's economy and economic challenges. Greece had been in an economic crisis since 2009 and dependent on international monetary loans to rescue its economy. He criticized the austerity measures set by the European Union and added that the European Union needed radical changes and "a rational reconsideration of review and strategy". Other topics included Greece's foreign policy and relationships with other countries, including the U.S. and Israel. After opening remarks, he was interviewed by Mr. Antholis and Mr. Lombardi. He also responded to questions from members of the audience. 
Mr. Tsipras spoke in Greek, with simultaneous translation.</description>

He thanked the European Union for their continued support to Haiti and discussed the challenges facing the country. Mr. Martelly is Haiti's first head of state to address the European Union. Since the 2010 earthquake which devastated the island and left thousands homeless, the European Union has provided close to $415 million dollars in humanitarian aid. The Haitian president added that humanitarian aid is not enough, and urged European Union members to also support "productive work, trade and direct investments."</description>

      <title>British Policy on Arms Exports Controls</title>
      <description>British Foreign Secretary William Hague testified on arms export controls before the British Committees on Arms Export Controls. The committee examined a range of issues, including the government's policy on strategic exports and the licensing of arms exports and other goods. The foreign secretary was asked to update the committee on several issues including the United Kingdom's arms export policy with Syria and Israel and the implications of the European Union arms embargo on United Kingdom policy. Topics included the possibility of the United States joining in arms control treaties and the use of U.S. use of drones. He was joined by the head of Arms Export Policy Department within the British Foreign Commonwealth Office.</description>
