Students are asked to create a short (5-8 minute) video documentary on one of the country's greatest strengths or a challenge the country is facing.       <title>Care of Wounded Warriors</title>
      <description>Former Senator Robert Dole talked about the changes being made to improve care for wounded veterans. The former senator, who was gravely wounded in World War II, is co-chair of President Bush's Commission on Care for America's Returning Wounded Warriors. The bipartisan commission released a report in August 2007 calling for rules to simplify the confusing standards for determining disability and compensation, eliminate overlapping activities between the Defense Department and the Veterans Administration, reduce inequities, and provide the tools for injured veterans to return to productive civilian lives.</description>

Among the issues they addressed were sustaining efforts to combat terrorism, emerging threats to national security, definitions of combat and war, and the separation of posers among the branches of government in wartime. They also responded to questions from the audience.
"The Constitution and 'The Long War'" was a program of the fourth annual Peter Jennings Project for Journalists and the Constitution hosted by the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. It took place on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. in the Annenberg Center for Education and Outreach.</description>

      <description>Military historian Patrick K. O'Donnell talked about his book [They Dared Return: The True Story of Jewish Spies Behind the Lines in Nazi Germany] (Da Capo Press; October 13, 2009). He used recently declassified files, private documents, and personal interviews to tell the story of Jewish refugee sent on a covert operation deep into the heavily fortified area of Austria's "Alpine Redoubt," where Hitler planned to make his last stand. He was joined by the commander of Operation Greenup, former Sergeant Frederick Mayer. They talked about the achievements of the group and the dangers overcome. 
They were interviewed at the 32nd Annual National Press Club Book Fair and Authors' Night, a fundraiser for the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.</description>

      <title>Veterans and Military Mental Health</title>
      <description>Officials from the Defense and Veterans Departments took part in a discussion looking at the range of mental health and counseling services available to returning war veterans. Among the topics they addressed were evaluation methods, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and congressional initiatives to address to assist veterans. Psychiatric service dogs in the audience were pointed out. Following Colonel Ritchie's remarks, Vietnam War veteran Ron Morton unexpectedly stepped up to the podium and spoke about soldiers committing suicide and the increase of veterans with AIDS and HIV. He argued that the Veterans Administration is not doing enough for veterans with PTSD. After the panelists' prepared remarks, they responded to audience members' questions.</description>
