Book Discussion on [America, But Better]

Brian Calvert and Chris Cannon argue that the U.S. should elect Canada as president in 2012 and talk about the Canada Party's platform. In their satire they propose that one gay couple be allowed to marry for every straight couple that gets divorced; the phrase "job creators" will be changed to "job creationists," and they will be given seven days to create jobs; corporations will still be people, but if they can't provide a birth certificate they will be legally obligated to care for your lawn.
The authors spoke at the KGB Bar in New York City.

Book Discussion on [Almost President]

Scott Farris presents a history of men who ran for the U.S. presidency and lost. The author examines why each candidate failed and posits that the loser often infused new ideas and presented their respective political party the opportunity to re-imagine their platform and so may have had more of an impact on American history than the men who actually won. Scott Farris responded to questions from members of the audience at Rediscovered Books in Boise, Idaho. This presentation was part of the spring event of the Political Science Alumni Association of Boise State University.
