      <title>Communicators with Harlin McEwen and John Brown</title>
      <description>Harlin McEwen and John Brown talked about communications changes made for emergency responders since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and changes still need to be made. They discussed proposals for a national communications system that allocates additional radio spectrum, the "D block," to public safety. Both guests believe added spectrum would help diverse agencies, such as fire departments and police from varying districts, communicate with one another during emergencies.</description>

      <title>Communicators with Nora Volkow</title>
      <description>Dr. Nora Volklow talked about tests conducted by National Institutes of Health (NIH) scientists and the Energy Department's Brookhaven National Laboratory. The test results show that brain chemistry becomes altered after 50 minutes of cell phone usage. The study did not make conclusions about long-term effects of the altered brain activity.
Kenneth Foster, who does extensive research into the effect of radiofrequency energy, spoke by phone about his concerns with the NIH test and other beliefs about the long-term effects of cell phone radiation.
Epidemiologist Devra Davis also talked by phone about the NIH test. She believes that cell phone radiation does produce harmful effects on the brain.</description>

      <description>In light of the use of social media in troubled areas of the world such as Tunisia and Egypt, Philip Verveer talked about the State Department's role in freedom of expression matters worldwide. Edward Felten discussed his role as the first ever Chief Technologist and his role in advising the Federal Trade Commission on privacy matters. 
Both interviews took place at the "State of the Net" Conference sponsored by the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee.</description>

      <description>Several interviews were shown from the GOV 2.0 Expo. Jeffrey Carr is the chief executive officer of Greylogic, a firm that investigates cyber-conflicts. He discussed how secure the U.S. is against cyberattack. Judy Brewer works on ensuring that the Web is made more accessible to those with disabilities. Danah Boyd is a social scientist for Microsoft who studies how young people use and relate to the Web.
These interviews were recorded in May 2010. The GOV 2.0 Expo was held at the convention center in Washington, D.C., May 25-27, 2010. The Expo features experts interested in using technology to promote a more open government.
