      <description>Members met to resolve differences and finalize an education bill to be sent to the president. The legislation would authorize $26.5 billion for public primary and secondary education, require reading and math tests, allow parents to move children out of poor performing schools, and allow states to intervene in schools that do not meet minimum standards.</description>
