      <title>George Washington's Alexandria</title>
      <description>Bob Madison, author of [Walking with Washington: Walking Tours of Alexandria, Virginia], led a walking tour through Old Town Alexandria and visits three locations important during George Washington's time. The Carlyle House was home to John Carlyle and his wife, Sarah Fairfax. Carlyle was a founder of Alexandria and one of the earliest landowners. Gadsby's Tavern was a place where Washington dined frequently and also attended Birthnight Balls in his honor. At 235 years old, Christ Church is one of the oldest churches in the city. George Washington attended services there and his family pew is still marked.

      <title>Alexandria's Contrabands and Freedmen Cemetery</title>
      <description>Pamela Cressey talked about Contrabands and Freedmen Cemetery. The cemetary served as the burial place for about 1,800 African Americans who fled to Alexandria to escape slavery during the Civil War. She talked about how black soldiers' graves were disinterred and moved to the military cemetery now known as Alexandria National Cemetery, where they still rest today. She also spoke about how civilians left in the Contrabands and Freedmen Cemetery were forgotten until the late 20th century when Alexandria archaeologists discovered its location.

      <title>Daniel Webster Memorial</title>
      <description>Historian Richard Norton Smith tours the Daniel Webster Memorial, located beside Washington, DC's Scott Circle. Sculpted by Gaetano Trentanove, the statue was a gift of [Washington Post] founder Stilson Hutchins, and was dedicated in 1900.
Webster twice served as U.S. Secretary of State, and represented both New Hampshire and Massachusetts in Congress, serving in the House of Representatives for the former, and the Senate for the latter. With Henry Clay of Kentucky and John C. Calhoun of South Carolina, Webster was one third of the "Great Triumvirate" in the mid-19th century's "Golden Age" of the U.S. Senate.</description>

      <title>Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery</title>
      <description>Monty Chase talked about the history of Camp Chase, which was named for his ancestor, Salmon P. Chase. It was used during the Civil War as a Union training ground and a Confederate prison camp. Starting in 1895 the deteriorated cemetery began to be restored by former Union Colonel William H. Knauss and an annual commemoration ceremony was begun which continues to be held by the Hilltop Historical Society.
