Book Discussion on [When Hell Was in Session]

Former Senator Jeremiah Denton appeared on G. Gordon Liddy's radio program to talk about his book [When Hell Was in Session] (WND Books; 7 edition (November 1, 2009). In the book, which was first published in 1976, Admiral Denton discussed his years as a POW in Vietnam and his efforts to inform the outside world about what was happening at the Hanoi Hilton. This new and updated edition of his book includes an epilogue about the culture shocks he received upon coming home.
On July 18, 1965, Jeremiah Denton was shot down near Thanh Hoa. He spent almost eight years as the senior American officer to serve as a Vietnam POW. During a 1966 television interview arranged by the North Vietnamese, he blinked in Morse Code, spelling out 'T-O-R-T-U-R-E' with his eyes: the first confirmation Americans in Vietnam faced torture. After his release in 1973, he was promoted to rear admiral and then represented Alabama in the U.S. Senate from 1981 to 1987. He is the founder and president of the Admiral Jeremiah Denton Foundation.

He said that gun rights supporters focus on "the right to bear arms," whereas the gun control proponents look at the preamble, which addresses having a "well-regulated militia." Prof. Cornell agruded that the 2nd Amendment guarantees neither an individual right nor a right of the state but a civic right to protect the nation, state and community.
John Hagee, the senior pastor at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, was interviewed on the Jim Bohannon Show about his book [Jerusalem Countdown: A Warning to the World], published by FrontLine. In the book, Mr. Hagee assessed the nuclear threat posed by Iran, which he says is far greater than most Americans think. Mr. Hagee argued that an attack, or the continued threat of an attack, by Iran on Israel could mark the beginning of the end of the world. During the show, Mr. Hagee talked about the aid he said Russia was providing Iran, the relationship between Iran and China, and the possibility of Israel preemptively striking Iran. He responded to telephone calls from radio listeners. Mr. Hagee also signed a copy of his book for Mr. Bohannon.

John Bradley was interviewed on the Jim Bohannon Show about his book [Saudi Arabia Exposed: Inside a Kingdom in Crisis], published by Palgrave Macmillan. John Bradley talked about life in Saudi Arabia and the Saudi royal family's hold on power there. Mr. Bradley said that while the majority of citizens in Saudi Arabia worry about growing unemployment, a deteriorating education system, and a lack of fundamental freedom, the Saudi royal family does little to address these issues. This disparity, he argued, has caused Saudi Arabia to become increasingly unstable. Mr. Bradley also talked about the reaction to the U.S. invasion of Iraq in Saudi Arabia and recounts a picnic he attended in Saudi Arabia with members of Osama bin Laden's family. He responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail.
